Dr. Maher Sughayer
Pathology and Laboratory medicine
King Hussein Cancer Center
Dr. Sughayer received his MD degree from the University of Jordan in 1983. He was trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at N.E. Deaconess hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate in Boston, MA, and then at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the field of cytopathology in Baltimore, MD, USA. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Pathology in AP, CP and cytopathology. He has more than 35 peer-reviewed papers on various topics of Medicine and Pathology and one text book chapter. Recently he was awarded a grant from the European Union along with European Collaborators to establish a biobank at the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Sughayer served as a consultant for the European Investment Bank on medical projects in the Middle East. He is on the editorial board of several medical journals and also serves as a reviewer for the journals and the UICC.
Dr. Sughayer‘s research interests include breast and colon cancer and personalized medicine.
